About this campaign
Sophia is a rescue cat that I adopted when she was 8 months old. She and her sister, Chloe, were the last two of their litter so I adopted both. I have been Sophia's mother ever since. She lives happily with my other cats (family of 6 total). Sophia is a sweetheart and loves belly rubs. She and I have developed a very close bond through her illness.
Sophia suddenly became ill in March with what appeared to be an upper respiratory infection. After exhausting all efforts with my general vet, I took her to an internal specialist at VCA Bay Area Veterinary Specialists and got the unfortunate news that she has a nasal tumor, most likely due to lymphoma. I would like to move forward with some type of treatment for her.
Sophia has been a wonderful cat. She gets along well with all her fellow cat siblings and she and I now have an extremely close bond. She feels my unconditional love for her and knows I am doing everything in my power to help her feel better. She has responded positively to one dose of Elspar so that is telling me chemo may be a good option for her. Sophia purrs very loudly. She's a happy cat
This is a sudden unexpected expense and I did not have pet insurance in place prior to her diagnosis. I am using as much credit as possible to pay for the vet care, but I am ask for support as it's beyond what I can realistically afford. I just want Sophia to be happy.
