About this campaign

Four years ago a friend was going on a trip and asked if we would watch a puppy that she couldn’t sell. She was a tiny pup, probably the runt. Well ended up keeping her. She’s always have had sight problems primarily because of the way her eyes set. But it’s never stopped her from being a typical boxer. Until she started to bump into items. That’s how we learned about her genetic cataracts.

She’s a true boxer in every way and form. Couch potato one second the next high flying running and jumping. Her favorite game is fetch, it kills me knowing that she can’t truly play with out her sight. She gentle and sweet, nothing but wiggles all the time. She loves giving kisses and getting butt scratches. She has her bed next to ours ever since she was a pup.

She is the most expressive, talkative dog I’ve ever had. She loves to have “conversations” when I get home from work about her day. When she can’t get to or find her ball she will come and get someone for help. She hates baths but loves the beach and loves to be towel dried. She will promptly let me know if and when her bowl is empty with a silent whine.

Along with her allergies her has genetic cataracts. They develop around the age of three to four. Animal vision center of Virginia has been amazingly work with me and my schedule. Dr. Heather has been amazing with Sophie. She has informed me about the testing requirements and how long those results are good for.

I work two job one with my local city offices and another at the Virginia ABC store. It would mean everything to me just to play fetch and for her to play with other dogs. It hurts to think that she’s like this in the best years of her life.
