No one knows how long Sophie suffered in agony before CAMO Rescue got word of the horribly neglected dog.

The group tells Waggle their hearts were shattered to pieces when they found Sophie in unimaginable pain.

Her matted hair was slowly killing her by cutting off the blood supply to her delicate paws. Her ears were full of dirt. She was covered in tumors, infection, and rot. This poor girl has likely not been touched by caring hands in years.

When the nonprofit group rushed her to the animal hospital, X-rays revealed something in her stomach. Sophie was wheeled into emergency surgery and a veterinarian removed pieces of a shoe. She may have been starving and ate the insoles.

Sophie still needs more surgeries to remove mammary tumors, fix her rotten teeth, and be spayed.

Everyone is astonished at Sophie's enduring spirit despite her ailments; she even wags her tail!
