About this campaign
I adopted Sophie when she was about 1 year old from a local county animal shelter. She's now been with me for 13 years. I am a disabled senior living alone with Sophie and another dog, Louis (mixed pitbull breed). Both Sophie and Louis have cancer..it is an unfortunate time for us.
I no longer work because of my disability.
Both Sophie and Louis sleep in the bed with me at night. When we're not out on an adventure, both Sophie and Louis hang out on our couch. Sophie loves to be out and about in our community. She loves car rides...it's really taken all of these years for Sophie to just settle on the car seat rather than try to ride on the dashboard :-) #Enthusiasm.
Of all of the dogs I've had in my life, Sophie is quite a character...of course every dog has a unique soul, but Sophie copies everything I do. For instance, she LOVES to shower, and if not allowed in while I shower, she'll press her face against the glass. When she does shower with me, she wants her hair blown dry holding her head upside down, and then her teeth brushed. She also follows me.
A little more than a month ago, Sophie was diagnosed with bladder cancer. by Dr Kelly Watrobski of Calabasas Anima Clinic & Holistic Vet, Calabasas, CA. Dr W has directed me to provide Sophie with numerous supplements, Chinese herbal medicine, and homemade whole food. In addition, Sophie is being treated with weekly ozone treatments, and IV immune booster drugs.
Since I am a disabled senior, I live on a very tight limited income. It is shocking that I have two dogs with cancer, the bills are shocking. I am doing the best. I can, and. I don't want to withhold treatment because of my inability to pay. I appreciate whatever you can do.
