Sparky is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in Baltimore, MD, who needs $2,000 for Heartworm Treatment- Melarsomine + Preventative.

Due to the recent and unfortunate passing of my father, Sparky has come into my siblings and I's care. My father was a police officer and adopted Sparky as both a companion and a guard dog. Unfortunately, he was unable to give Sparky the adequate care and attention he needed, resulting in Sparky contracting heartworms.

Currently, Sparky is Heartworm positive and is in the process of receiving treatment. Thankfully he is still in the early stages and a full recovery is possible. He is seeing a vet now at Frederick Road Animal Hospital and is scheduled for his second dosage of preventative medication before he receives his first shot.

Sparky is an interesting character; he loves to meet new friends and eat new chicken flavored treats. Having spent so much of his life isolated and alone, he is finding joy in exploring every new smell he can a day. His favorite a toy is a lambchop which he shows great care! although he'll nibble on lamby and his other toys he is truly a gentle giant with the craziest side eye I have ever seen.

I am an undergraduate student as well as a full-time instructional assistant. though I have been working for some time most of my savings as well as my siblings went towards my father's funeral arrangements. It would mean the world to us to give Sparky a second chance.
