My little Spazzy Doodle was a rescue. I used to live in California. One day about 7 years ago, just minding my business in my yard, I suddenly hear this cute little “meow!” below me. It was the tiniest little black and white kitten contently looking up at me ! He purred and rubbed affectionately on my leg; I was amazed at how charming and friendly this little kitten was! I named him Spaz because he liked getting into mischief and had a spastic character. From then on, I took him in as my own and he was my little mister.

Fast forward three years, two of our neighbors’ dogs snuck in through our gate and attacked Spaz. I caught it right as it happened and had to skip some college classes that day to rush him to the vet. It was a seriously close call; I did not think he would live at first and was devastated! However, I was very lucky; the veterinarian specialized in cat surgery. The staff at Canyon Veterinary Hospital in California saved his life and fell in love with him! Then, two years later, he made a trek all the way from California to North Carolina when I moved here!

Now here he is today, the most precious kitty, in an emergency situation. On February 13, our apartment caught fire when we were not home and we lost everything. Spaz was covered in tar, suffered many burns, and rushed to the emergency vet immediately. We are still looking for his sister, Baby Fluffy, who we were also taking care of. It must be so difficult on him and I just want to show him love and peace again.
Our bill so far has been quoted at $7900, and that doesn’t include the bandages and further recovery he will have to do.
