Spice is a 9 year old Chihuahua in Gardner, KS, who needs $800 for Splenectomy.

My girl Spice came into my life because I was looking for a chihuahua. I went to Kansas City Pet Project and was looking at the dogs, I came up to this kennel that had a brown and white chihuahua. Her kennel had plastic on the front of it so I was not able to pet her. She just stared at me. I knocked on her kennel and she just laid there. I told myself I had to have her, so that is what I did.

I woke up and Spice was coughing up phlegm, so I took her to the vet and they performed an x-ray and found a large mass on her spleen which was pushing on all her organs causing lots of problems. Dr. Smith @ Stepping Stone Animal Hospital said she could perform the surgery on her which absolutely made my day. I thought I was going to have to put her down but Dr. Smith has given her some more time!

Spice has always been special to me & my baby since I adopted her. She was abandoned by her previous owners so it tugged at my heart & I told myself I was going to spoil her. She has been through a lot with me. When I was sad & crying, she would come up & nudge me to pet her. She has been with me through my mom's passing. If I didn't have her, I don't know what I would have done.

It will mean the world to me to have my baby girl back to normal and have her health better that it was before. Your fur babies are like your kids, you want to do everything you can for them no matter what it takes!
