The weekend after Thanksgiving our neighborhood received an influx of dumped dogs. We believe based on Spooky's original injuries that she was thrown out of a vehicle. She made her way into our property and we decided to take her in and get her nursed back to health, and she has grown from much more than a foster situation to becoming part of our little family.

2 weeks ago she showed signs of sepsis and after explorative surgery a pound of rotten material was removed. Mostly plastic and fabrics that were months old, but also bits of string and cloth that clumped together whenever she licked the floor or ground outside during walks. She apparently nervously chews even metal and hard plastics when she is anxious. She requires more surgery.

Spooky loves to burrow in warm clothes and loves to lay on the heating pad! She has a really cute grumpy groan and bark when she is needy or upset and she loves car rides! We just discovered she had a knack for seeing in the dark better than the other dogs in the home. She is the only dog we have had that is "small" even though she's 30 lbs.

We have spent around $7000 in the last month trying to get this dog back to health that was left for dead in our neighborhood and it's like every turn there's another thing that needs to be handled. We need the help badly.
