About this campaign

Spot came into our life because a friend could no longer keep her. We have had her since 2017. She shares her home with a cat and my four children. She was about two or three years old when we got her. I've been suffering from depression and anxiety and she has been a great support to me. My children love her dearly.

Spot is the most gregarious dog I've ever had. She loves everybody. She especially seems to love my children. She sleeps next to my daughter Shelby at night. A couple years ago when I was running regularly, she would come with me on most of my runs. Everyday that the sun is shining she barks to go out between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. and will lay out for a half an hour, looking at the sky and napping

As I mentioned, she enjoys sunbathing. She seems to have an internal clock because she will ask to go out at the same time every day. She doesn't like to sleep alone. Unlike some Greyhounds she gets along pretty well with cats. She'll sometimes lay down next to our Siamese. She never barks at other dogs or at people who come to our house.

She has a tumor on one of her mammary glands. We cannot afford for her x-rays to be submitted to radiology. The vet says that it looks like it is not spreading at this time, but it has grown in size. They recommend removal of the tumor. Biopsy was inconclusive as to whether or not it is malignant.

My husband left his sales job because his commission was no longer enough. He's having difficulty finding work. We moved to a townhouse and immediately had a plumbing issue that cost $1,600 in addition to us having to come up with a deposit. This basically bankrupted us.
