About this campaign
My cat Sqeaky has been with me for 12 years. I was at an animal rights convention in Washington DC when my father called me and told me my mom found a newborn kitten in their driveway. He had been abandoned by his mother when my mom accidentally scared her off when she got in her car to go to work. So I went and got him as soon as I got home. He was so small everyone said he looked like a baby rat
Sqeaky has an older sister, Libby. They have both been with me for over 12 years. They get along really well and usually sleep together at the foot of my bed. Sqeaky is a very large cat, but when I got him he was so tiny and I put a few stuffed animals in a little box with him so he would have litter mates. He still plays/sleeps with Barney (a purple teddy bear).
I receive social security disability insurance. I live in low-income housing and get food stamps. Sqeaky has to have this test so the doctor can treat him! Please help if you can!
Sqeaky got sick a week ago. His breathing became fast and labored. I knew something was wrong with him and took him to his regular vet last Wednesday. They did a thoracentesis on him which is draining fluid off his lungs. Dr. Clifton at Hope animal hospital in Athens, Ga referred him to Woodlands Veterinary Referral to get an echocardiogram.
Sqeaky likes to play! His favorite toy is his old litter mate Barney but he also likes to play soccer and with his turbo charger. He is a different kind of cat, one that growls! Especially if he's hungry. He also chases his tail like he thinks it's a separate entity that's out to get him so I have to stay stocked up on catnip!
