About this campaign

Before Star came to Pumpkin's Rescue Club, she was suffering alone on the streets. This sweet senior cat was spotted dragging a completely non-functioning leg behind her. A concerned community member shared her story on Facebook, explaining that Star had been struggling this way for at least a week. No one knew exactly what had happened, but it was clear she was in pain and desperately needed help.

Pumpkin's Rescue Club stepped in and rushed Star to the veterinarian. After a thorough examination, veterinarians determined that Star had suffered a severe injury that never healed properly. The damage to her leg was extensive, causing significant pain and discomfort. The kindest option was to amputate the leg and finally give Star relief.

While under veterinary care, Star also received a much-needed dental procedure, diagnostic bloodwork, and treatment for a painful urinary tract infection. Despite everything she had endured, Star's spirit never wavered. She recovered beautifully from surgery and quickly adapted to life on three legs, proving just how resilient and special she is. But just when it seemed Star was finally getting her happy ending, a new challenge emerged.

Star has suddenly stopped eating and has begun vomiting. Because of her age and recent medical history, these symptoms are especially concerning. She is being returned to the veterinarian for additional diagnostics to determine what is causing her illness and to get her feeling better as quickly as possible.

After surviving life on the streets, enduring the loss of a leg, and fighting through multiple medical issues, Star deserves every chance at a comfortable and healthy future.

Your donation will help cover the cost of her diagnostic testing, veterinary care, and any treatment she may need to recover. Every gift, no matter the size, helps Pumpkin's Rescue Club continue saying "yes" to cats like Star when they have nowhere else to turn.

Please donate today and help Star continue her journey from survival to a life filled with comfort, love, and hope.

6/18/26 Update

We wanted to share an update on our resilient senior girl, Star. The good news is that Star's bloodwork came back mostly normal, which was a huge relief. She has been receiving fluids and supportive care, and we're happy to report that she has started eating again. While this is encouraging progress, we still don't have all the answers.

To investigate the cause of her symptoms, we recently ran an fPLI test to evaluate Star for pancreatitis, and we are currently awaiting those results. During her examination, veterinarians also discovered that Star has an enlarged heart, which may require additional monitoring and follow-up care.

As always, Star continues to amaze us with her strength and resilience. After surviving on the streets, enduring a painful leg amputation, recovering from a dental procedure, and overcoming a urinary tract infection, she continues to face each new challenge with courage.

We're hopeful that we are moving in the right direction, but Star's journey isn't over yet. Additional diagnostics, follow-up appointments, and ongoing medical care are still needed to ensure she stays comfortable and receives the treatment she deserves.

If you are able, please consider making a donation to help cover Star's ongoing veterinary expenses. Every contribution helps us continue fighting for this incredible senior girl and gives her the chance to enjoy the comfortable, loving life she has always deserved.

Thank you for standing with Star. We will continue to share updates as we learn more.
