Star is a 5-year-old Pitbull in Syracuse, NY, who needs $2,000 for diagnostics and treatment for hip dislocation.

Star and her brother Wars kind of fell into my lap as puppies. I share a house with my boyfriend and he didn't and doesn't take care of them. They had no one else, so I have been caring for them for over 5 years now. I'm physically disabled and have been for 13 years. I survive solely on disability income, which is nowhere close to enough for a person to live on, but everything I make goes to my pups.

There are 3 pups in total, Star, Wars and Rogue. They sleep with me every single night and they're literally my reason for being. We imprinted on each other and they're my life. We're together 24/7 and I can't bear to be separated from them for even 5 minutes. I have severe anxiety and depression, and they're the only thing that helps me.

Again, I've been physically disabled for 13 years. I've watched my own health deteriorate to barely functional, but that's nothing compared to watching someone you love deeply, your child be injured and can't afford to help. It's a horrific powerless feeling.

The last week she's been limping and I'm almost positive she has a dislocated hip joint, which would need x-rays and treatment as well as follow up care. She got her last shots at Tractor Supply Co. Discounted shots and has a history with VCA hospital Shop City for the last 5 years. She had a bout with pancreatitis 2 years ago and was treated there. She's now on strict lower fat food.

Star, she LOVES people and attention. She can't bear to be ignored and will force you to fall in love with her! She adores belly/chest rubs and will tell you about her day in aroo's. I call her Polly prissy pants because she's always bossing me around with her aroo's. She loves sleeping upside down, spread eagle, hogging the whole bed.
