About this campaign
My family adopted Starfire when she was 2 months old from the litter of a friend of a friend. My oldest had been wanting a puppy for years and we had just got settled into our first owned home. She is now a year old and completely a member of the family.
Around September of 2023, she started showing signs of discomfort in her back right leg. We thought it was an injury from a tumble she took the day before. After visiting her vet at Banfield, a 2nd opinion at Westside Animal Hospital, and x-rays, it was discovered that Starfire suffers from a developmental issue called Luxating Patella where her kneecaps repeatedly are dislocated.
She is loved by a 2yo girl, a 9yo boy, 2 kitties, Mom and Dad. Since day one, she has always been a goofy, fun-loving, cuddle bug of a pup. She loves to frolic through grass and snow and is the best cuddle buddy anyone could ask for. She loves to play with her kitty siblings and human babies. She is always so gentle! Her favorite pastimes are cuddling by the fireplace and visiting Grandma's house.
The surgery to repair this issue is approximately $4000. We've applied for a PetCare credit card but were denied. I am hoping not to have to surrender my kiddos’ first puppy so that she can find a family that can afford her medical needs.
