About this campaign
I rescued Steve 7 years ago when he was 8 weeks old. We bounced around from house to house and eventually traveled across country from NY to CO with my girlfriend Lauren, where we have been living for the last year. We have a nice big fenced in yard and have hiked all around NY, CO, and NM. He has a sister named Quinn who is a Great Pyrenees that we rescued a year ago.
Steve is the biggest cuddle bug there is. Wherever we are is where he wants to be. He loves to get under the covers and cuddle for hours. He hates the rain and will refuse to go outside if it’s raining but will swim for hours on a sunny day. He is a regular at the brewery and many people know his name. He is very spoiled and our weekends revolve around taking him and his sister to new places.
He is down for absolutely anything. If you want to sit inside and binge watch tv, he loves to plop on a pillow and do nothing. If you want to hike the biggest mountains in the middle of a snow storm, he’ll be leading the pack. His favorite game is tug of war with anyone he can sucker into playing. He loves everyone and gives our maintenance crew a scare until they realize he’s a complete baby.
Steve had a bump on his scrotum that we noticed. We took him to the Animal Hospital and after testing, she determined it was a mast cell tumor (MCT) and recommended it be removed immediately. The MCT needs to be biopsied to determine its stage and the necessary treatment. It’s something that doesn’t get better with time and could cause complications or death if left untreated.
I currently have no emergency funds remaining because I recently needed emergency dental work performed. Steve is my number one priority and him being healthy means everything to me.
