Stevie is a 1-year-old GoldenDoodle in Ridgefield Park , NJ, who needs $2,000 for Surgery.

I have a 1yr old GoldenDoodle who swallowed a piece of toy & my Vet told me to give him Hydrogen Peroxide to try induce vomiting. This instead went into his Trachea & caused Aspiration Pneumonia. Stevie was transferred from one hospital to another, spent 10 days in the ICU, had an endoscopy, a breathing tube, was oxygen dependent and non responsive most days. We were told he wasn’t going to live.

I’m relieved to say that Stevie is a strong & resilient puppy and has made his way home now! He still needs daily injections which I’m administering twice a day, oral meds & will need X-rays weekly for a month to check the lungs. The bills so far between the 2 hospitals & the Vet Ambulance are up to $31k. We have Trupanion Pet Insurance & so far our out of pocket costs are $6k & still growing.

He’s my Service dog and without him I feel that I cannot function. He has become more than a 4 legged companion in my apt. He’s an extension of me & has taught me so much in just a year since I’ve had him. He allows me to venture and makes me smile or laugh every single day at something familiar or different.

Stevie has lost 11lbs in 2 weeks. Was transferred from VEG Hospital in Paramus through a Vet Ambulance to Eclipse Pet Emergency Specialty in Whippany, NJ. He was oxygen dependent and I couldn’t travel with him. He still needs daily injections which I’m administering twice a day, oral meds & will need X-rays weekly for a month to check the lungs.

It will mean keeping him alive as right now I need enough for his new food, the daily injections and future follow up bills to check that his lungs are working properly. I put everything on my credit card & asking my Landlord to please allow next month’s rent to be a behind.
