About this campaign
2 years ago, we had a thunder and lightning storm. Midnight, a feral mother had crossed the street with Storm, her 1 surviving kitten from her litter, but the lightning made her drop him in the bushes and run. I heard cries outside and found Storm almost submerged from flooding. I bottle fed him from a week old. I live alone and I have 4 other ferals I've had to rescue since then and 2 dogs.
A rescue got a respiratory infection so bad that I had to put her to sleep. 2 days later, Storm had a fever and quickly became dangerously ill too. I took him to the ER Vet 100 miles away and they did blood work and gave him antibiotics. Tomorrow he will see All Creatures Clinic in Princeton WV, but I'm getting buried and need financial help since I'm on SSA and SNAP and Storm is still so sick.
Having raised Storm since he was a week old, he is my baby. He is very affectionate and crosses his legs in contentment on my arm when I hold him and follows me everywhere. All the dogs and cats get along wonderfully, and they are very worried about Storm right now. In better times, they sit at the storm door, fascinated by fireflies and bumblebees and the frequent rain we've had lately.
I feed feral cats inside and outside. I just can't watch them suffer; I have to help them. I've had to have a number of ferals put to sleep due to the dangerous life outside, I'm realizing too late that I just don't have the means to help them all and I may lose Storm now
