About this campaign

All About Sugar. In 2014, She came into my life when an Iditarod Musher was going to rid of her because they could not take care of her, so I made every effort to rescue her from the worst chase situation. I gave her opportunity to run free and be a Lead Dog for my sled dog team. This was just the life I wanted her to enjoy running as pack with her teammates.

What can I say about her interactions with my family? Speechless, she is just an intelligent sled dog that has shown us how to live in the moment. She jumps on the bed sleeps, eats, runs, and just enjoys the open roads and trails of being a dog, but she has been there to show us what leadership and true love is by being a companion.

Our family has been thru hardships, COVID and Economic layoffs in Alaska too. This would be the first time I have ever crowd funded for support. It would mean the world it would mean having my friend with me for hopefully another two years.

Sugar was just examined on Jan 25, 2021, with VCA East Anchorage Animal Hospital with Dr. Hedges. She was diagnosed with a Mammary Tumor/ Breast Cancer. This is her first major medical condition and treatment. Sugar has been healthy ever since she joined my team & family. She currently resides with my family living a retired life of being a Sled Dog. I hope treatment will give her 2 more years.

Sugar has been the limelight of my parent's life. Especially, for my Mother as she was there for Sugar during her lost litter. My Mother stayed by her side. Now Sugar comforts my Mother as she battles Parkinsons. Sugar loves watching TV with my Mother too. She evens loves her car rides to wherever we go. As we drive around town, she pops her head into wind as if she is racing again.
