Sukha is a 8-year-old Sheltie/Beagle Mix in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery on R Knee Cranial Cruciate Ligament (equivalent of ACL in humans).

Sukha came into my life at a lonely time in my life when I was experiencing significant depression/anxiety. As my only child now lives in Portland, OR, I currently live alone with my two dogs, Sukha and Carmie. I got both of them from a local pet store. Sukha is an 8 year old Sheltie/Beagle mix, and Carmie is a 5 year old Cavalier King Charles/Bischon mix.

Sukha is a very sweet, affectionate dog, and she loves to be around people. She has an anxiety disorder which prevents her from being left alone or put in a crate for an extended period of time. I'm a special education teacher, so while I'm at work, she spends the day with my mom and my sister Holly. Sukha gets so excited to see me when I come home!

Sukha is usually a very active dog when she's healthy! She loves to snuggle and play with her doggie sister Carmie, run around in our backyard, and go for hikes in the woods. She has lots of energy, so it's very difficult for her to be sedentary for long periods of time. She is highly intelligent and knows several commands and tricks. Her favorite trick to show off is "roll over"!

Sukha has had multiple medical issues since I got her as a puppy. Most recently, she has suffered two knee injuries. From her vet/surgeon Dr. Daniel Davis at MedVet Akron: "Sukha has sustained a tear of her right cranial cruciate ligament. I recommend surgical intervention of the right knee to give the best prognosis...TPLO as the best surgical option. Estimated cost of surgery is $4900-5100."

My other dog has already had two knee surgeries since 2019. Sukha injured her L knee and had a successful surgery in Sept. 2020, but she now needs surgery on her R knee. In total, I have already spent on $15,312 on knee surgeries for the two dogs and cannot afford another.
