Summer, a sweet 9-year-old girl who has been through unimaginable hardship. Abandoned on the streets, she was left to suffer with a severe case of mange and a flea infestation that left her skin sore. However, that was only the beginning. Tests revealed that she's also battling heartworm disease, a painful and potentially deadly condition if left untreated.

Despite all she's been through, Summer's spirit remains unbroken. She's a fighter, and she deserves a chance at a happy life. But the road to recovery won't be easy. Her teeth are in such poor condition that a dental procedure is necessary, but before that can happen, she needs blood work to ensure it's safe to proceed.

She will also need to undergo heartworm treatment which is a very extensive and expensive process as well as basic care such as vaccine. D&A Animal Rescue is determined to give Summer all of the medical care she needs to live a happy, pain-free life.
