Sunny Boy – Because He’s Like the Sun

Sunny Boy has lived up to his name. He is warm, and a beautiful Maine Coon mix that is part of a rescue kitten bunch that were given to me and my Mom because the parents were shot. He is my Moms cat, and I own his brother and sister. But am advocating for them. This is uncomfortable- I am not the type of person to ask or burden others until very last resort.

Sunny is gentle, kind, makes bad days better. But he was recently in a bad accident which severed his front brachial plexus nerve, which has caused the leg to be non-functional. Some cats regain mobility, some don’t. Trinity Animal Hospital has recommended amputation as the only humane and effective treatment. Despite this devastating news, he is still his warm sunny self and has ability for life.

Despite everything, Sunny still purrs when held. He still reaches out for comfort. He loves being brushed every morning and hanging out with his neighbors which happen to be his beautiful black and silver mischievous brother Raider and very shy sister Hina if she's not hiding (Hawaiian for misty rain because of her beautiful colors).

Again, this is uncomfortable - I am not the type of person to burden others. But I am overwhelmed. The ER care has been covered. The surgery will be another few thousand. Essentially, I am giving him a shot at life and medically sound decision. Anything will help.
