About this campaign
Sunny became part of my life at six weeks old, from a foster home while I was living on Maui. I was going through a very difficult period after losing both my grandma and my soul cat, Carlos. When I saw Sunny’s photo in a cat rescue group, I felt an instant connection unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It truly felt meant to be, as if my grandma and Carlos sent her to me to help me heal.
Sunny is a happy healthy girl, but we have been seeking care through the NC State Veterinary School’s internal medicine department for her chronic rhinitis and gastrointestinal issues. We have recently been conducting food trials, as well as an endoscopy and a head CT, to better diagnose her condition. While she was on a round of antibiotics, Sunny aspirated and has since developed pneumonia.
Sunny (legal name Sunshine Rainbow Princess) is full of spunk and curiosity, and she is truly my shadow—she never misses a chance to help in the garden or watch a good show with me.
She was a huge fan of her brother, Taco, and is remarkably gentle. Her friend Nova, who is blind, comes over occasionally, and Sunny is always so patient with her. She truly makes a special connection with everyone.
I recently used my Sunny fund to cover the procedures required to diagnose her condition. Unfortunately, before I could recover financially, she contracted life-threatening pneumonia just two weeks later. Given this emergency, I am asking for help. She is my everything.
