Susie is a 5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Kissimmee, FL, who needs $2,000 for Barium Study and/or Exploratory Surgery.

Susie's previous owner was in route to the pet shelter with her, when my husband was approached by her owner and asked to adopt her. Despite knowing that I would not accept, he brought her home. She was already named Susie, so we kept the name. We we got another dog, we named her Sadie so that they both had "S" names because they are sisters. :)

She has major backup of stool and gas on X-rays. Dr suspects a blockage or multiple blockages. Needs to do barium test to find out where, then needs to schedule either surgery for removal of the blockage, or exploratory surgery to search for and find the blockage and remove it. He suspects there may be intestinal damage already.

Susie has been in our family for 5 years. Myself and my children love her dearly. But most of all, she’s been there to comfort us in our darkest time. My little brother died in 2021. He was very close to my oldest son Daniel, who is 13. They enjoyed being together and fishing together. With my brother gone, Daniel has become even closer to Susie. I feel she is his emotional support.

We have a big family and in July, we lost our baby. We had suffered major financial loss from May - August, and are just now trying to get back on our feet. But we have still been struggling with bills and will not be able to afford this surgery otherwise.
