My daughter and I rescued Syckle when she was 11-months-old from the downtown pound after the loss of our 15-year-old dog who I had also rescued.

Syckle recognized my daughter and I as family immediately upon seeing us, ignoring everyone else. She was enamored with my daughter, even playing with her when we went into the room for us to meet her 1-on-1. Even more surprising, she had no wait list as a small dog, and we were able to adopt her that evening and take her home the next day after her surgery. It was the same with my other dog I rescued, we recognized each other as family/pack immediately, and after that the deal was done. She was coming home. And we would take care of each other from there, it was just understood and recognized that quickly.
