About this campaign

Tangerine came to It's Meow or Never as a tiny bottle baby and has faced one challenge after another. After months of battling chronic upper respiratory infections caused by feline herpes, she was finally healthy enough to begin looking for a home. Just as she reached that milestone, she was diagnosed with FIP. After an 84-day treatment, Tangerine beat the disease and through it all, remained the same affectionate cat who never stops purring.

Now, Tangerine is facing another diagnosis: Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis (FCGS), a severe and extremely painful inflammatory disease that attacks the tissues in her mouth. Every meal hurts. Eating, grooming, and even opening her mouth can cause pain, but she is still her happy self every day.

After consultations with multiple veterinarians, the only treatment that offers her the chance at a pain free life is a full mouth extraction.

this isn't a routine dental procedure. Because FCGS is often accompanied by tooth resorption, where the teeth begin dissolving into the jawbone, the surgery is much more complex. Each affected tooth must be carefully removed, making the procedure longer, more delicate, and more expensive than a standard extraction.

The estimated cost of Tangerine's surgery is $3,000.

As a rescue, we never want finances to determine whether an animal receives the care they need. Tangerine has already overcome impossible odds more than once, and she deserves the chance to enjoy the rest of her life without constant pain.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings Tangerine one step closer to relief. If you're unable to donate, sharing her story can make just as much of a difference.
