About this campaign
Tango was a stray, found on the streets. His picture and story had been shared over 200 times and no one claimed him. He had an infected bite mark above his eye, was covered in tooth bite scabs and had general wear and tear from being on the streets. There was a quad-state tornado, so he may have been lost from that. He was not chipped at the tiem.
Tango has a doggy door so is an indoor/outdoor pup. He LOVES playing in the water, which makes watering and cleaning a bit difficult. He's stretchy...stealing food off counters and a grill. He has learned to play with toys, to wait and catch treats. He loves to be pet and is a cuddle bug in the chair, on the couch or bed!
Tango is loving and playful. The first week we had him, he climbed and escaped from our 6' wood fence. But he was discovered by our new neighbor, he stayed right in the yard, didn't run off. He's a Blue Heeler, he nips a bit, but doesn't bark hardly at all. His best friend is his companion dog; a large blue heeler mix. Tango loves to cuddle on your lap.
When rescued, Tango was just slightly heartworm positive. Vet recommended regular heartguard treatment. Unfortunately, yesterday the heartworm (and hookworm) test still came back positive. He was prescribed a month of antibiotic, but heartworm treatment will need to start next month. The veterinarian remarks how calm Tango is for an ACD
I've had 4 outstanding medical bill ($12,000), paid off $4000. I'm waiting to see if insurance will cover any of the remaining 3 bills. If they pay, I can afford the heartworm treatment, if they don't pay, I have to pay my medical bills before Tango's.
