About this campaign
In 2013 I had a heart transplant. I was home alone often after the surgery. I needed a friend. In November 2013 I found Tango at my local town shelter waiting to be adopted. He won us over with his loving and happy nature immediately. He has lived with us at our home, enjoying a large fenced in yard ever since.
Tango has been the star of the show. He goes on vacation with us. He goes on fundraising walks with us. He is loved by everyone that meets him. He has been an integral part of not just my life by helping me through my recovery as a therapy dog and best friend, but will play all day with my kids and sleep with them at night.
I am still struggling to make ends meet because of my own medical expenses. I am grateful for my ability to work and have a home, lots of friends and family. But, sadly my salary is not able to cover all of Tango veterinary bills.
Tango has been diagnosed with a tumor on his right rear leg. I took him into The Veterinary Center of East Northport for initial consultation. They recommended Tango sees a surgical specialist at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island. Both places recommend Tango has the mass removed and a biopsy done. We are all hopeful it is not cancerous.
Tango loves interacting with his human friends. He has developed an amazing vocabulary. He loves when you ask him if he wants a cookie, or to go on a walk or car ride. He can contain himself. Bubbles over with joy and a big smile when we talk to him. He loves to remind us when it’s dinner time. Tango will howl and do a little circular dance to get our attention.
