Tank’s Fight for Survival: From the Streets to Safety

Tank’s life on the streets of Newark was nothing short of heartbreaking. For weeks, this emaciated, scarred, and exhausted pup wandered alone, searching for food and shelter. It wasn’t until an EMS crew finally caught him that his painful reality became clear—his ears were brutally cropped, his teeth worn down to tiny nubs, and his frail body bore the scars of his past.

Tank is now safe with A Pathway to Hope and Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge as they work together to fight for this gentle soul, providing care, love, and safety. Tank needs urgent medical attention, including diagnostics to uncover any hidden illnesses, treatment to help him regain strength, and, most importantly, a loving forever home where he can heal both physically and emotionally.

Tank has since been adopted into a loving home, where he continues to heal with the support of his devoted new family. His new dad and four-legged sister, Hope, have welcomed him with open arms—and Tank absolutely adores them!

Under continued veterinary care, Tank is steadily gaining weight and strength in preparation for his upcoming neuter surgery. He is thriving in his new environment and slowly but surely healing from a lifetime of neglect.
