Tara is a 12-year-old Chihuahua in Franklin, GA, who needs $150 for flea treatment.

Tara Twinkie Thomas is 12 years old now. We got her as a gift to our male chihuahua, Poppy, because he seemed lonely. She started in my heart as a daughter-in-law but she is a full fledged four legged daughter now! She and Poppy had 8 wonderful years together in which they had a total of ten puppies in four litters. Poppy is gone over the rainbow now and will be waiting for her when it’s time.

Tara is the only canine in a house of 4 elderly human adults and 3 cats. She will occasionally chase it be of the cats if they run. She has never caught one so I don’t think she wants to actually catch one, she just likes the chase. Tara is spoiled rotten and sleeps with her mom and dad. Dad used to travel for his job and she would always be so glad to see him when he got home.

Tara has an underbite. It is adorable but according to vet not desirable. She doesn’t play much anymore but loves to steal dads socks as he tries putting them on. She isn’t into toys. She gets rewarded with a piece of a Beggin’ Strip when she goes out to pee. Whenever we have company or family over and we go to hug goodbye she barks as if she saying don't forget to hug me!!

Due to the pandemic, no work for my husband and limited money we skipped last year to the vet. Tara has an allergy to fleas and scratches all the time. She needs rabies shot and heart worm, flea and tick meds. She needs her anal glands squeezed and toenails properly trimmed. Lately her coat has changed and she has lost weight so there may be more serious problems.

Tara’s dad lost his job in March 2020 due to pandemic. He had a heart attack in Feb with no insurance. He then lost his prostate to cancer in April. His med bills are almost 200k. He has begun receiving SS retirement but it’s less than 2k a month. Help us care for our baby!
