Tay is a 1-year-old Pit Mix in Alexandria, VA, who needs $2,000 for Parvo Treatment.

Our rescue pulled Tay from the PG county shelter in VA where there is Breed Specific Legislation. Dogs deemed "pit bull type dogs" are considered illegal and are ineligible for adoption. They can only leave the shelter through a 503c rescue organization and fostered in a home outside of the county.

Tay had only been in a foster home for a few days before becoming sick. After a week in a foster home, he began throwing up and was admitted to the hospital. Tay was also exposed to Parvo at the shelter. He is now fighting for his life at the Metropolitan Animal Center. He is an affectionate, playful dog. He deserves a chance to show his true personality in a home of his own.

Tay is a young dog with a playful spirit. His ears go up, down, sideways, together and sometimes do their own thing! He is incredibly expressive and communicates a lot through his ears. His tail never stops wagging and he loves to roll over for belly rubs. He did great meeting other dog and kept a relaxed, wagging body.

Tay has endured an exploratory surgery bc his imaging (X-rays) suggested an obstruction. He tested positive from Parvo at that time. He has been fighting for his life in the Metropolitan Animal Center under 24 hour supportive care for several days. Tay has a feeding tube as he is not eating. They have attempted a fecal transplant and we are anxiously waiting to see if the treatment is working.

Tay's obstruction surgery, 24/7 hospital care and fecal transplant has bankrupted our reserve funds. We are having to ask other vets for an extension to pay our other bills. We do not want to have to make a decision for Tay's life based on available funds. Please help us.
