Teddy is a Aussiedoodle puppy in Mesa, AZ, who needs $2,000 for a Bilateral Hip Replacement.

Before the puppies arrived it was my boyfriend, me, and our 13-year-old jack Russell. Teddy and Balou came to our home from the King Family Ranch. After picking up Balou who is 3 days older than Teddy we felt Balou needed a brother to play with. We went back one week after picking up Balou and met Teddy. We fell in love with this Tubby fluffy guy and so did Balou.

Teddy sleeps in our room in his own kennel and he loves it. He is the absolute sweetest boy and loves to be cuddled and hugged. He hasn't met a person he doesn't love. Every kid he has met he instantly befriends and kids absolutely adore him because he looks like a cuddly fluffy stuffed animal. He is the easiest puppy to fall in love with.

His best friend and playmate is his brother Balou. Teddy loves to be in cold weather and play in the water. We took him to Lake Havasu and he swam in the lake and he was so happy. I think that was the first time he could move around without pain and the weight of his hips. He also LOVES fans and AC. Since day one he has sat in front of them and so we have always had one blowing on him.

At 6 months of age when we had Teddy neutered, we found out he has pretty severe bilateral hip dysplasia. We took him to our local Vet Dr. Cromer at Tri City East Vet Clinic and we mentioned he seemed to be having pain in his hips. They performed an x-ray and informed of us of the results. We started him on a diet to help with the pain and are currently speaking with ortho surgeons about surgery.

My boyfriend and I are both first responders and my boyfriend is in school for his acute care nurse practitioner. We both work 96-120 hours biweekly and after meeting with the surgeon they informed us his surgery would cost $20,000. Sadly, we don't have that extra income.
