About this campaign
Tiger was taken in by Feline Lifeline volunteers after a concerned neighbor of a recently passed elderly woman contacted them. The late woman's two pets — a cat and a dog — had been turned outside and abandoned after their owner's death. Months later, the cat was still wandering the neighborhood. After rescuing him, we learned this friendly and calm cat was 12, but he was skin and bones.
Since being fostered, Tiger is very friendly and laid-back, despite being in pain and starving. He likes to cuddle and lay in your lap. However, he tends to keep to himself, most likely because he is usually in pain. Even so, he's never been aggressive to people or animals, and he waits patiently at feeding time. He's very well-mannered.
Tiger is so easy to love. He gets along with other animals — there are other foster cats and a dog in his current foster home. He has claimed a carpet remnant from remodeling as his bed of choice, and can often be found curled up on it — no matter how many times or places it's moved! Tiger is a senior cat who has enough strikes against him. Getting him healthy will improve his adoption chances.
Tiger's gums were bloody and inflamed, so he had a dental cleaning which did not help. After getting a second opinion, we know Tiger has stomatitis, a very painful dental condition that can only be resolved by extracting all of his teeth except his canines. He is on antibiotics and pain medicine until surgery can be arranged.
We are a small, all-volunteer nonprofit that relies solely on public donations and grants to pay for cat food, litter, spay-neuter surgeries, and veterinary care. Special needs cats such as Tiger put a strain on our finances and reduce the number of cats we can intake.
