Tiki is a 14-year-old Lab/Greyhound mix in Littleton, CO, who needs $1,000 for diagnostics and hospitalization for sudden-onset pancreatitis and diabetes.

A little over 10 years ago, I adopted Tiki from a military family who couldn't keep her due to deployment. She had been rehomed at least 4 times previously and I never really had a clear picture of what the first 3 years of her life were like. However, it became clear that she had been abused, as she cowered anytime a man (especially wearing a hat) would come near.

Every day since I brought her home, I have done everything in my power to help her live her best life. She loves her dog sister and four cat siblings, but her main love is playing fetch. As an older dog, she has slowed down, but she loves to play fetch, swim, paddleboard and anything else that involves going "bye bye." She sleeps wherever she wants, mostly my bed or a couch, and SNORES so loud!

I became disabled in Dec 2018 and have a limited income. I am single with no help and am struggling. Her dog sister was diagnosed with a brain and kidney tumor about 6 weeks ago and is currently on chemo and many meds. I was barely treading water with that, and now this...

She has been quite healthy for an older dog. Typical age-related changes with some arthritis, but nothing major. However, in the last week or so she has become unable to do stairs, incontinent, and has been out of it. Her labs showed a sudden onset of diabetes (sugar too high to read), a slight herniation of T1, pancreatitis, and a UTI. Her labs were normal 3 months ago, but something changed.

She is a mama's girl through and through. Besides her snoring, she loves to do "Tiki rolls." She flops her chunky body down in the grass, puts all fours in the air, and wiggles. She is a bit of a clod, and when she is focused she will take out anyone and anything in her path. She always has to be first (much to her dog sister's chagrin) and always goes all in whatever she is doing.
