Tina is a 2-year-old Mixed Breed Dog in Reno, NV, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.

Tina - as in quaran-Tina - came into our lives through a Facebook group for our community. She was 7.5-months old with the most magnificently large ears and polka-dotted toes I had ever seen. That was June 6, 2020. Her personality has blossomed into a very clever, sweet, loving, funny, smart young dog. Tina has an ever-growing "fan club" consisting of neighborhood kids and adults who ADORE her.

Although posted as a Border Collie/ Black Lab mix, Tina is always ready to chill and is NOT a retriever (which she makes very clear after the second time her toy is thrown). Unlike most conventional dog homes, Tina not only sleeps in the same bed with us but also eats at the table with us. She'll even get into her chair and wait while I'm cooking! She uses a variety of vocalizations and gestures.

Tina's personality is comprised almost exclusively of infectious-joy-inducing idiosyncratic behaviors. She is afraid of the dark, unnaturally skilled at untying things, and talks in her sleep. But her quirks pale in comparison to what it has meant to have Tina in our home adding joy throughout this pandemic, as we are immunocompromised and at high-risk so still forced to limit all our contact.

Tina is regularly seen at Kreature Komforts Animal Hospital, where she's been an established patient getting regular exams and nail trims since 2021. She, like many dogs shaped like her, tore her CCL. Her vet recommended TPLO surgery to return Tina to her previous level of function with the best long-term prognosis. Few places locally offer the procedure, and most are booked out 1-2 months.

I receive SSDI for autoimmune disease and typically supplement my income in many ways. Once COVID hit I no longer safely could, so I have been struggling since. There are no words to convey the value Tina, my ESA/ SDiT, adds to our lives. I just want to return the favor.
