About this campaign

Titi (short for Nefertiti, the Egyptian Queen) has been a part of our family since the day she was born. Her mom -- an all white cat -- found her hiding spot in our closet, and the only reason I could tell there were kittens hidden with her was Titi's little wriggly, black body (she lightened to her grey and white coloring as she grew).

Titi needed emergency surgery on April 21, 2025 at the MSU Small Animal Clinic in East Lansing, MI, to remove a foreign object stuck somewhere in her digestive track (surgery happening as I type this so details aren't all known yet). But she's a healthy, active kitty who, the vet assures me, should do just fine in this type of routine, though wholly unexpected, surgery.

Titi is is a vocal kitty who lets us know when something is not right -- typically a subpar amount food in her bowl, but she let us know something much bigger was off on April 21. She is also our 2.5-y.o.'s BFF. "Kitty loves me" was one of his first complete sentences. He knew she was going to the vet in the morning as he went to day care, and asked about her immediately when he came home.

The cost of an emergency vet surgery was not something we were prepared to handle. But there was no way I could tell our kids we couldn't afford to help our kitty get healthy again, especially when this should be something Titi should be able to recover from easily.
