Tobias is a 8-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Loxahatchee, FL, who needs $1,500 for Sub-Total Colectomy.

Hello everyone, this is my baby Tobias. I have had him since he was 2 days old and bottle fed him and his 3 sibling when I was 18. He has a chronic condition called megacolon that has been medically managed by my DVM and recently has not been responding to medical treatment. He requires a surgery called a sub-total colectomy in order to survive.

He is a wonderful part of my family. The biggest snuggle bug you'd ever meet, he snuggles with my dog who he is best friends with everyday. He is the perfect movie buddy and the best when you need a friend. All he wants to do all day is lay around the house and requires everyone's attention. He truly is the best cat.

Tobias is the only cat I know that loves belly scratches, it's his favorite thing ever. When you snuggle with him he always has to knead on you and lay right on top of your chest. He thinks he has to go in the bathroom with you every time you have to pee or take a shower, he is like a little shadow.

My cat is currently under the care of my DVM and now is requiring a surgical procedure to remove the affected bowel that does not work properly. He has been on long term miralax (laxatives) and Cisapride (bowel motility stimulant) for the last 3 years and now is not responding as well to treatment. Toby has had frequent hospital stays recently and is only getting worse.

I'm a full time nursing school student and rely in student loans to pay for school. I have a small amount of money saved up for emergencies but outside of that I don't have much. I currently live at home with my family on a very low income.
