Toby is a 6-year-old Beagle in Merrimac , MA, who needs $2,000 for Vertigo, Deep Inner Ear Infection, and Anorexia.

Toby is a rescue beagle. We believe his owner had been a hunter but grew old and subsequently abandoned his beagles to fend for themselves. He had been returned twice to the shelter prior to our adoption. He was feral, frightened and in need of a safe loving home. With patience and compassion he was able to trust me and embrace his forever home. He lives with 4 rescue buddies, his Mom & Dad

Toby loves to play with his rescue buddies, Zeke, Zoe, Jack and Brady. Toby sleeps in his crate while the others sleep in our bed. Every morning his best buddy Zeke runs to his crate & barks to wake him up. Jack is our golden and Toby’s protector. Toby has taken ownership of our yard. He bravely hunts through bushes with white tail wagging! He loves me & trusts me. It makes my heart sing

Toby has taught me more than I have taught him. He showed me the power of patience and the miracles it can bring to those who wait. To understand everyone has a journey & not to judge on behavior alone . Always ready to join in on an impromptu howling session his voice overwhelms. Hunting through the bushes with only a white tail wagging makes my heart sing

Since just last month Toby has fought through a plethora of issues. Since early August an inner ear infection went deep into his brain resulting in vertigo, esophagus, anorexia and multiple inpatient stays. The fees exceeded over 10,000.

Forced into retirement because of an injury sustained at my last job. (I worked as a Physician Assistant at the Essex County House of Corrections, a job I loved) . Designated disabled I now live on a fixed income.
