About this campaign
My wife and I rescued Todd from an animal shelter in 2019 where he was picked up as a stray. He was 35 pound, 6 month old puppy and has grown to be a 90 pound dog. We fell in love with him the moment we met him. We brought him home where he lives with us and our other dog Willow. 3 years ago, we bought our dogs a big backyard where Todd had spent his time playing fetch and chasing squirrels.
Todd has had a rough last 18 months. He contracted a painful skin infection from fleas that were originally misdiagnosed for many months by a different vet. This was finally cleared but he then began limping occasionally around 6 months ago. The limp progressively got worse and recent xrays at PetFolk Vet in Wake Forest, NC revealed a torn right ACL and partially torn left ACL.
Todd has become my best friend in the 5 years he's lived with us. He loves to play fetch, go for long walks, play with the other dogs in our family, and chase the birds and squirrels in the backyard. He's the friendliest dog you have ever met. As a large dog with a lot of energy, it's hard to keep him calm long enough to heal at all. With 2 bad knees, his running and playing are all but eliminated
At ~$5500 per knee, we are not financially able to get Todd the help he needs right now. My wife just finished her degree and started her job after we had been on one salary for about 15 months. Any donation will help get Todd running a lot sooner.
