About this campaign
We adopted Toffee as a rescue dog when he was 8 weeks old during the Covid pandemic in May of 2020. He is dark brown and black color so we immediately chose the name Toffee for him which we thought matched his color. We rescued him from a very bad living condition in a farm in Tennessee and offered him our then apartment and later our new home in Colorado.
Toffee is having liver issues with inflamed gallbladder, pancreas and infection in the liver. He is undergoing critical care at Animal Urgent Care Northeast in Brighton, CO. He is getting IV antibiotics, NG tube feeding, IV fluids, pain medication and is soon to get plasma transfusion. Toffee needs a biopsy of the liver and gallbladder so the vets can pinpoint the root cause and treatment.
Toffee is an important part of our family. Anyone who has met and interacted with Toffee will tell you that he is very friendly and one of the nicest dogs they have every come across. Toffee is very intelligent and knows his boundaries and is nice to all other dogs and humans.
We have a paycheck-to-paycheck life. Our limited income must not only support our regular living expenses but also pay for huge debts we have and support an aging parent abroad with her regular medical treatments. Our combined monthly income barely gets us by.
