About this campaign
This two-year-old bully was overbred and set up to suffer from the very start. Exotic microbullies often struggle to breathe due to narrowed nostrils and elongated snouts, and many can barely walk because of deformed front legs and unstable hips. As if that pain weren’t enough, his former owner cropped his ears purely for appearance.
Tofurkey came to us through local animal control after his former owner was arrested. Beyond his congenital defects, he was in critical condition, bleeding from a prolapsed urethra—an agonizing issue sadly common in this breed. He required immediate surgery. He was also not neutered, and we ensured that was done to prevent further suffering caused by irresponsible breeding.
We are now working toward additional surgery to help Tofurkey breathe more comfortably. With multiple procedures and major changes ahead, it is crucial that he find a foster or adoptive home as soon as possible. While he will never live a truly normal life, he can walk, play, and run, though he sometimes drags his legs to manage ongoing pain.
Tofurkey is overwhelmed and in need of compassion. Whether through donations, fostering, or adoption, you can give him a chance at stability and comfort. He has endless love to offer—he just needs someone willing to give it back.
4/24/26 Update
Thanks to all of you, Tofurkey received the emergency surgery he desperately needed and is healing and breathing a little easier these days. He can run and walk in his own quirky way, though he does best on soft surfaces.
