About this campaign

Tonka was a rescue, he was abused and neglected. He has a permanent scar around his neck that we assume came a rope that broke free from. He was found roaming streets extremely malnutrition.

Before his injury, Tonka loved to play. He loved to play tug-a-war and fetch. Every day when I'd get home, he would greet me with a toy and start a game of tug-a-war. In the mornings we would play fetch.

He also loves our family, especially our grandchildren. When they come over here love to play with them and just spend time with them.

Tonka is a very loving dog. He loves to cuddle and getting his belly rubbed. And boy is he a talker. In fact, you can get him to mimic the sounds of " I love you!" We have always been blessed with his love especially when you consider the abuse he endured before we adopted him.

Tonka needs surgery on both of his rear knees. TPLO Surgery is what his doctor says needs to happen. His right knee is much worst than his left and we have surgery scheduled for September 18th. We have been told that this surgery has a very high success rate.

The estimate given to us by the vet's office is around six to nine thousand dollars per knee. We have care credit but it's not enough to cover both surgeries.
It is killing us to see his spark, his vest, his silliness gone.
