About this campaign
I was taking picture of foreclosed home for a bank, and heard some crying inside a boarded up house that I was photographing. When I went in, there were two dead puppies that didn't survive an almost dead mother, and she carried the two puppies that were still alive into another room. She had to have been put into this boarded up property around 20 days before I got there. She had her puppies approximately 12 days after being locked up, because the doctors that night told me that the puppies were 7 or 8 days old, and both had malnutrition. They had not eating at all since they were born, the mother was unable to nurse or provide for her pups, that's why two of them were already dead. After entering the property, I followed the crying to a room with the two white puppies hurdled over each other. They we're skin and bones. I rushed the two puppies to the emergency, and called a pet rescue for the mother.
In the morning the vet called me and told me only 1 of the puppies survived. I named him Toober. After 1 year of his life, he was diagnosed with Lupus, from not getting the right nourishment when he was born, his aminue system didn't get the ability to form properly. So, I took him down 3 or 4 different paths for drugs and we finally settle on Atopica, it's a experimental drug, at $250 a box of 12 pills, he had to stay on for the rest of his life. I go through a box and 1/2 per month. The doctors said that he probably wouldn't last more then 3 years. He's now 8 years old0, and was happy until just recently, at which 2 days ago, he became lethargic, and was walking funny. I took him to the vet, and they gave me some pill and said they had to send his xray's to a radiologist. The radiologist came back with nothing abnormal. But, we definitely know that he's in pain, his bladder is 5 times as large as it should be, he can't pee, and I posted a video of all he does is lay on a blanket and twitches, we think from the nerves that are being Pinched. The vet is almost positive that he as IDVV , which is the disease that can cripple dogs and if not treated can kill them from kidney failure if not treated. The bladder can be so full, that the urine ends up back in the kidney and cause all kinds of havoc. RIght now I've spent almost $2500 in tests, vet bills, medications, and an overnight stay with the hospital. Now, they say I need a CT Scan which is $3500 alone, not to mention what the operation is going to cost, but, I have to take this one step at a time, and get the scan to determine if he needs back surgery.
