I got Tootsie nine years ago while going through a painful divorce, and she’s been my rock ever since. Through every move and every chapter — from New York to now living in San Juan, Puerto Rico — she’s been my family, my comfort, and my reason to keep going.

In August 2023, Tootsie and I both became sick after a day at the park in Dallas. My body recovered, but her lymph nodes never went down. After months of tests, she was diagnosed with lymphoma. She’s now under the care at Doctor Pet Medical Hospital.

Tootsie is my little shadow, my heart in dog form. She follows me everywhere, senses my emotions, and curls beside me when I can’t sleep. We share a bond that feels almost psychic — her joy, loyalty, and gentle spirit light up every day.

The vets say chemotherapy gives her an 85% chance to recover. I’ve done everything I can naturally like feeding her a vegan diet, but she needs medical help now. Watching her struggle is breaking me — I just want to see her running on the beach again, happy and pain-free.
