We adopted Tootsie almost 1 year ago. When we got her she was skin and bones and very skittish. The shelter believes she had probably been a stray her whole life. Now she's our youngest child. I loved her immediately but my partner takes a little while to adjust to change. I knew things would work out though the afternoon after we brought Tootsie home when Sarah took a nap and Tootsie curled up beside her. It was so cute. Tootsie still sleeps between us every night and we couldn't imagine things any other way. Our older dog isn't much of a cuddler though we've had cuddlers before that have passed, Tildy, the older one just is more of a loner so we've missed that but Tootsie loves to cuddle so with her she's usually against one or both of us. One of her favorite things is "rub the belly" which is exactly what it sounds like. She rolls over and grins at us until we scratch her belly.
