We met Tops at our local animal shelter. We were looking to adopt a pet and he more or less adopted us! As I walked by his cage, he reached his paw through the bars and grabbed me. I’ve been in love ever since…
He got the name Tops because we had a very special member of the family pass away last year. His name was Spot and he was a pit bull. Tops is totally opposite and is Spot spelled backwards

Tops is very unique and has a strong personality. I believe he thinks he needs to take care of US at times. He always puts his paw up on his Daddy's lap when he’s sleeping in the chair. He massages my hair at night with his “happy paws”. He loves the older grandkids and likes to hold their hands in his paws. He loves playing with his Uncle Phil who is developmentally disabled. He is our family

If the lights are on and he is ready to sleep, Tops covers his eyes with his paw. That’s our sign that it’s bedtime!
He’s very playful most of the time but only on HIS schedule. He loves to sit in the windows and sun himself. He’s also a great “mouser”. He’ll sit in front of the stove for hours watching for mice. Nothing gets by him! Except a piece of lint or too that scare Him to death!

Tops is part of our family and we love him very much, so when he came in one day from his usual walk around the house ( guarding it again bugs and such) with a sore on his tail, of course we were concerned. We treated it with antibacterial spray and it seemed to be getting better.
Now it is back and Tops keeps licking it and chewing his hair out. It also has yellow puss coming from it.

Tops is not his usual self. We are struggling financially and have been trying to treat him at home but it is becoming apparent that he needs to see a vet.
My husband’s company shut down and he is getting less pay and we have not been able to get Tops the help he needs.
