About this campaign
Trey was found lying on the ground, unable to move – freezing with multiple fractures.
Trey was found by a Good Samaritan. We don’t know how long he was lying helpless in frigid temperatures, unable to stand. It is truly a miracle that Trey was found before he froze to death. He was grateful for help, immediately purring in response to seeing people. His faith in humans had not been broken.
Xrays and ultrasound showed a fractured pelvis and femur. Trey’s injuries are from severe trauma, though he was not found near a road. Because of the dual fractures, Trey was unable to stand or go to the bathroom on his own.
Trey is now in our care at Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge. We rushed him to the hospital in an effort to save his leg through orthopedic surgery. His leg was plated and pinned, and he is recovering well. His medical team keep reiterating how adorable and affectionate Trey is, so deserving of this second chance at life.
Trey’s prognosis remains positive, he is bright, alert and eating well.
Your donation will help us save Trey. Every dollar helps. Thank you so much for your support!
