About this campaign
ThisIsHouston
Trinket was found as a stray with a severely injured back leg. She was taken to a local shelter that ended up amputating her leg. Unfortunately, her incision became severely infected due to self mutilation. We were heading to the local shelter for a different injured dog when they told us about her. We knew we couldn't leave her behind.
Trinket is hospitalized at the ER getting her wound cleaned and debrided. They used fishing weights to pre-tension the wound which has really helped pull the skin together. They closed her wound and placed a drain which stayed in for a few days.
The ER removed the drain and now Trinket is receiving bandage changes. The hope is she will be well enough to head home into foster care soon! She’s a beautiful girl who is quite scared of everything. She has been warming up to the staff and loves her walks. She gets around great on just her three legs.
Her wound was very gnarly, and her care will be costly, but she’s in great hands getting the care she needs. We aren’t able to save dogs like Trinket without your support, so we hope you consider helping us help her.
Update 9/21/24:
After a hefty ER bill from being at the ER for 16 days, she has finally healed and is ready for a home! Her cheerful attitude and energy make her a joy to be around and she’s always ready for playtime or a cuddle session. She is laidback, doing well with potty & kennel training and is very easy to love! We are so happy Trinket is doing so well, but her bill still remains. Please help us cover this sweet girl's ER bill.
