About this campaign

When I met Tripod I was unwell and and losing hope on living a normal life. Little did I know that I had cancer and I was at the start of a terrible adventure. Tripod has been with me through it all and without him I know I wouldn't be here today. When the vets brought him out they said "this one has some issues and is missing a leg and he has been here for quite some time. He was perfect.

Tripod loves everyone and since taking him from the shelter, he has bloomed into a beautiful cat who lives his relaxed days on my couch or chair. He is constantly coming in for love and attention and he never fails to make me smile and make me want to smush him. I love how he is constantly wanting to be around me, looking at those eyes as if I am actually his parent.

I have just recently beat cancer myself. Over the past few years I have been seeking cancer treatment for late stage Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I entered remission, but the undertaking cost me my job and savings. I need to be there however, for Tripod as he has been there for me.

Tripod was recently diagnosed with bony cancer and will require surgery to remove the tumor which has not yet spread. He will further need medication and possible followup care in order to recover fully. With the tumor removed Tripod should be able to live a normal and healthy life. I would give anything to make sure he lives a normal life.

Tripod, even though he only has three legs does not wish to be seen as anything less than a big 4 legged guy. His cuteness is a flaw in his eyes and he tries to play himself off as a big bad cat in charge. When I was going through my chemo sessions, Tripod would always be on my lap and if I was unwell and needed to run to the bathroom, he would be right behind me. He is always there for me.
