Trixie is our spirited 2-year-old miniature dachshund, named after Beatrix Kiddo from Kill Bill for her fearless personality. She’s the puppy of my cousin’s two dachshunds, Betty and Winston, and we were able to bring her home thanks to a lucky win for a sports game at work where we filled out squares for wins. We live in Brunswick, GA with her dachshund siblings—Lola (8), Coco (8), and Daisy (1).

Trixie was recently seen at Case Veterinary Hospital in Savannah, where we learned she has two cracked teeth and one with a painful cavity that needs to be extracted. She’s always been healthy, but her dislike of snout touches now makes sense. The estimate for her dental work is over $1,300.

Trixie is full of life and energy—she races through the house, announcing her presence with her loud bark, and keeps us all laughing with her bold spirit. Though independent, she’s deeply loved by her human family and her dachshund siblings, who wouldn’t be the same without her.
