About this campaign
Hi,
My friend Liz is the actual owner of Trixie. I am starting this campaign for her because she will never ask for money even when needed.
Liz is a foster mom for AARF. She fostered Trixie for many weeks before deciding to adopt her. Trixie was rescued from Bethel, AK where she lived most of her life in a cage, sleeping in her own feces and fed minimally. Liz gave her a chance at a new life.
Trixie tore her CCL on her back left leg. She loves to play but unfortunately did not have a life suited to do that before Liz. Her surgery is quoted on the low end to cost $6,739.95 and they expect her to tear the other side once this side is fixed requiring another surgery. She walks in pain and is not able to enjoy activities to the fullest. This surgery would be life changing for her.
Trixie is playful, easy going and a loving dog. She likes to nap on her comfy bed and always sleeps with her tongue out. She was nervous when Liz first fostered her but she came out of her shell and interacts with the other dogs like they are her true family. This treatment will hopefully help her be able to stay active and healthy to spend many more years playing in her loving home.
Liz is a hardworking xray tech who spends her free time dedicated to her four dogs, Gator, Willow, Biscuit and Trixie. She still manages to volunteer hours helping with fosters at Alaska Animal Rescue and Friends. These pups really mean so much to her and her to them.
