About this campaign

Trooper was found on the side of the road, his face so swollen and injured it was hard to imagine how he was still standing.

Just a baby, at 4 months old, Trooper should be chasing toys, playing without a care in the world, and soaking up everything good about being a puppy. He should be carefree, he should be getting socialized. Unfortunately, that isn’t his reality.

We may never know what happened. While it was suggested he may have been hit by a car, his injuries told a worse story. It turns out it’s a combination of old and new trauma, including fractures to his jaw that had begun healing. Trooper’s suffering over a period of time is just unimaginable.

RBARI said yes because Trooper needed help immediately. There was no time to wait. Now we’re asking for your help to make that possible.

Through it all, Trooper never stopped wanting to live. Even with his face swollen and bleeding, he was still trying to eat. His tail kept wagging and he was asking for kisses. The hospital staff quickly fell in love with Trooper because of who he is despite everything.

Trooper has begun the long process of healing, but healing doesn’t mean the crisis is over. He is unable to be the playful puppy he should be. His jaw fractures need time to mend and there are still unknowns about how this will affect him as he grows. Let’s give back to this sweet boy who deserves the best.

7/23/26 Update

Thanks to all of you, sweet Trooper has officially been released from the hospital and is now recovering in foster care. He is being well taken care of with plenty of love. His foster family is doing an amazing job keeping him calm and safe while his jaw continues healing. This wouldn't have been possible with out your support. Thank you for helping to give him a second chance.
